The Balancing of Opposites

Noh is the colorist in the group. Using a sensual palette of lush rich pigment (red, blue, purple, magenta, turquoise, yellow, gold) against a field of vibrant black, she creates a series of works called Mystic Desire. These beautifully composed expressionist canvases consist of geometric shapes executed with bold, gestural brush strokes and strong dissecting lines. Highly sophisticated in concept, Noh's paintings are energixes by the tension and balance created between her deceptively simple forms and the negative space that surrounds them. "Life is full of joyous beauty and mournful sadness," she says in her statement of intention. "I keep wandering between the two."
